If you are like me, you probably have at least twenty pairs of shoes in your closet. You probably even want to kick yourself, with that new pair of shoes you just bought, for straining your finances in the name of fashion.

However, there is a new shoe brand on the market that will not only go easy on your wallet, but make you feel good as well (and not just because these shoes are super comfortable)!

True to their “One for One” promise, TOMS Shoes for Tomorrow will donate one pair of shoes to a child in need for every pair of shoes you buy. According to the TOMS Shoes website, the company has delivered over 10,000 shoes to children in Argentina, and over 50,000 to children in South Africa. TOMS also makes sure that each of their manufacturing factories operates in fair labor conditions.

The idea came from the company founder, Blake Mycoskie, during a trip to Argentina where he observed countless barefoot Argentine children with wounded feet. The design collection is inspired by a traditional Argentine slip-on shoe called an ‘alpargata’.
