It’s officially December, I know you’re probably thinking the same thing I am, where has 2011 gone? The month of December doesn’t just kick the holiday celebrations into high gear, but every imaginable countdown of “best this” and “top this” will begin as 2011 comes to a close. And here at brandsalsa it’s no different! Throughout the month of December we’ll be listing out (in no particular order) the most talked about brands in 2011.

Every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday I’ll add to the list, so check back often to see who made the cut!

And without further ado, the most talked about brands of 2011 are:

Chrysler
Chrysler has seen some hard times throughout the last few years. They’ve had to file for bankruptcy, close a number of factories, hand control over to a new parent company, Fiat, and cut thousands of jobs. But in early 2011 these weren’t the reason the American brand was making headlines. During 2011’s Superbowl between the Pittsburg Steelers and Green Bay Packers Chrysler debuted their new Chrysler 200 model with an ad featuring Detroit native, and rapper Eminem. The $9 million dollar spot not only featured the Chrysler brand but the city of Detroit, both working their way back from hard times. The initial reaction from consumers was a positive one, but on the other hand the more political folk felt the ad was an irresponsible use of the bailout funds Chrysler has received, and that the company was using the ad more to gain political support than to sell cars. Either way Chrysler (and Detroit) made many headlines with this one.
